Guillermina Aguilar Alcántara is the eldest of the four Aguilar-Sisters and one of the most kind, warm and sweetest personalities we met on our trips through beloved México. The Aura of this Lady in her 70s is indescribable and in her works especially the trademark-faces have put us under their spell from the first moment on. Through the typical pushed- forward lower jaw and the razor-shape eye areas she commemorates an incredible dynamic perfection to her figurines. Her Ladies of the Death are toffed up with flowery effects and fine patterns in the traditional colours of Guillerminas Homeland Oaxaca - and for sure these awesome pieces are a class of their own. The old Lady is widely travelled around the globe with her fascinating work and her 41 grandchildren can for sure be proud of their world-famous grandmother - Long may she run!
