Josefina Aguilar Alcàntara was already recognized by the american- and european artworld by the age of 20. 10 years later she referred to the innovator of the genre and today she enjoys the status of an absolute master of Art. From all Aguilar sisters she was the one who could work the longest in the care of her mother, soaking in the traditional skills and all secrets of design and painting. Some years after her mother’s death Josefina and her sister Guillermina entered the page next to her mother in the mexican bible of art “Great Masters of Mexican Folkart” and by this they will live on forever.
