Mariachi Shrine

The three mariachis are a real classic in the world of miniature shrines. This version was tailor-made at our partner manufactory according to our ideas: a black outer box, lined with red glitter and subtle decorations, which makes the perfect stage for the sharp dressed musicians. 

In Mexico, the small shrines are called Nichos and are a classic decorative element on the Day of the Dead altar. Nichos with themes like our Lady of Guadalupe or other religious motifs, mostly stay decorated throughout the entire year as a steady house shrine installation. Initially, Nichos were a traditional adaptation of the elaborate Retablo art of the Roman Catholic Church.

We buy our shrines directly from a family clan in Mexico City who invented this kind of folk art generations ago and who maintain a widespread network of manufactories. It's a matter of course for us, that we offer this particular speciality in exquisite quality only, as all of them have been hand-picked from limited productions while the majority of our Nichos has even been customized for us.
