The butterfly as a symbol of the soul surviving physical death and transmigration in general naturally also plays a major role in the symbolism of Dia de Muertos. In Mexico, the annual arrival of the monarch butterflies coincides exactly with the Days of the Dead, which is why it is considered certain that a departed soul returns home with each butterfly.
These small clay butterflies are a superskull product of the first hour and are made in a small family workshop in Oaxaca. The wings are made of hard-fired red clay and the skeleton is made of the same material. The body of the skeleton bulges out of the wing construction, while the head, arms and legs are embedded in the body using wire. By carefully aligning the skull and limbs, you can give the Muertito butterfly your very own touch. The cute skull of the charming Mexican folk art cleverly conceals a small wire tab for secure wall mounting, while the glitter has been cleverly glued to the wings to make it abrasion-resistant.

Sehr, sehr schöner Kunstgegenstand. Ich bin absolut begeistert.
Genau das, was ich mir unter Mexikanischer Volkskunst vorstelle. Erfüllt auch höhere Ansprüche und ist mit Liebe gemacht.
