Our Skeleton Cat is somewhat more opulent than the rest of the papier-mâché figures in our collection, but this does not detract from its cute charm ... we would just ask you to bear this in mind with regard to any combinations. The skeleton cat impresses with its perfect shape and a glorious skull with finely carved ears. The hand-painting is exquisite right down to the claws and, as always with this type of figurine, is sealed with a glossy lacquer finish, which also provides a subtle patina.
Art made from papier-mâché has a long tradition in Mexico. Paper fibers, water and paste are processed into a viscous paste that can then be sculpted with great verve. Our skeleton cat comes from a small family business in Mexico City, where it was made by hand to the highest standard using the combined experience of three generations.
