Dried egg white is an essential ingredient for solid and non-crumbling sugarskulls. After extensive tests with products from various suppliers, we decided to recommend and sell this high-quality product from Städter, one of the best-known german manufacturers for high-quality baking accessories, in order to get brilliantly white sugar skulls with a perfect consistency.
This might be helpful for your calculation:
For one sugar skull in the size of our Sugar Skull Basic Mold, you’ll need 10 grams of dried egg white.
For one sugar skull in the size of our Sugar Skull XL Mold, you’ll need 30 grams of dried egg white.
Another 15-20 grams will be needed for the decorative glazing (for 5 colours plus white).
A pack of 100 grams of dried egg white will be sufficient for 6 sugarskulls in the size of our Sugar Skull Basic Mold or 2 sugarskulls in the size of our Sugar Skull XL Mold. This includes the sugar glazing you’ll need to decorate the sugar skulls (5 colours) and the white glazing that is required to glue the halves together and to attach further decoration. For exact quantities, please refer to our sugar skull short recipe that comes with the product.
Important note for our swiss customers: for customs reasons, we are not allowed to ship dried egg white to Switzerland.
